  • COVID-19 - All Courts' Vaccination Policies and Access to Restricted Court Workspaces

    The Court of Appeal of Alberta, the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta (the Courts) have a responsibility to provide a safe workspace that protects the health and safety of individuals who work in, visit, or attend the Courts’ workspaces. Accordingly, the Courts have adopted mandatory Vaccination Policies which will be in effect as of Tuesday, September 21, 2021. These Policies apply to all secure areas of courthouses used by judicial officers and certain staff to which public access is restricted. Full details are included in the attached notice.

  • Desk Divorce Package Checklist Requirement & Mailing/Emailing of Divorce Judgments

    Commencing September 13, 2021, all new desk divorce packages submitted to the Court must include a Desk Divorce Package Checklist (Checklist) and copies of all relevant, previously filed materials as listed on the Checklist.   • COVID-19: COURT SCHEDULE FOR THE FALL TERM, 2021

  • Justice Urgent / Bypass FDC Request - Calgary and Edmonton

    Urgent Requests and FDC Bypass Requests in the Judicial Centres of Calgary and Edmonton now require a completed copy of the Urgent / FDC Bypass Request Form to be submitted at the time of making the request. Urgent Requests, for the purposes of this form, are defined as matters that require a hearing or Judicial response within 48 hours of submitting this request.   • SafeRoads Alberta Accelerated Review Procedure

    The Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta has introduced a document-based review process – SafeRoads Alberta Accelerated Review Procedure [SAARP] – to deal with judicial review applications of decisions issued by SafeRoads Alberta Tribunal, which conducts reviews of “Notices of Administrative Penalty,” pursuant to the Traffic Safety Act, RSA 2000, c T-6, and the SafeRoads Alberta Regulation, Alta Reg 224/2020, as enabled by the Provincial Administrative Penalties Act, SA 2020, c P-30.8.

  • UPDATED: Extension of the Cap on Email Filing Fees To September 30, 2021

    Court of Queen's Bench Administration has extended the cap on email filing fees until September 30, 2021. In addition to regular filing fees, documents that are filed via email will be charged at the rate of $1 per page, capped to a maximum of $20.
